Toronto FC, playing their third match in eight days, faced the Colorado Rapids. Despite early chances for both sides, the first half ended scoreless. In the second half, the Rapids took the lead with a goal by Reggie Cannon. Despite late pressure from Toronto, including a crucial save by Sean Johnson, the Rapids added a second goal through a penalty kick by Djordje Mihailovic. The 2-0 victory secured a playoff spot for Colorado.
