After a turbulent end to the 2025 season, Chris Armas and the Colorado Rapids have decided to part ways mutually. Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids President commented to MLSsoccer.com saying “We’re grateful to Chris for the professionalism and passion he brought to the club. He helped our group take meaningful steps forward over the past two seasons and leaves behind a strong culture that will serve us well as we begin this next chapter.” Armas spent two seasons in Colorado winning 33 games, losing 36 games and drawing 13 in all competitions. When asked about this decision to leave Colorado Armas said “I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done here and the progress the team has made. I want to thank the Kroenke family, Kevin Demoff and Pádraig, along with the players, staff, and the Rapids community, for their trust and support. This is a special club with passionate fans, and I’ll always be grateful for my time in Colorado.

While the Rapids were able to win back-to-back Rocky Mountain Cups they were unable to take the results won over Real Salt Lake and translate it to the Leagues Cup or the MLS Regular Season. Đorđe Mihailović leaving midseason for Toronto now appears like foreshadowing of a team losing their way.
