Cole Bassett has been traded to the Portland Timbers in a deal worth up to $3.7 million, marking the end of a historic era for the Colorado Homegrown. After seven seasons in burgundy, the Littleton native joins the Timbers as the Rapids’ all-time Homegrown leader in appearances, starts, goals, and assists. Bassett made 172 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 21 assists, including a career-high 16 goal contributions during the 2024 campaign. A three-time MLS 22 Under 22 selection, Cole’s journey from the Academy to the European Eredivisie and back has left an indelible mark on the club’s history.
