Jonathan Lewis has joined Barnsley FC of EFL Football League One to bolster their roster for the end of 2025. Barnsley is currently in 10th place and is navigating a mini injury crisis. The 27-year-old american has played all of his senior career in the U.S. making 175 Major League Soccer appearances. Lewis leaves the Colorado Rapids with 175 appearances and 8 caps for the U.S. Men’s National Team.
“I’m excited to be here. I’m already ready for the matches to come up and just try to help the team to get into the play-offs. I’m excited for it all. “To be with a top club in League One, be able to compete for the play-off spots and be able to compete with big clubs in this league – I’m excited about that.” – Jonathan Lewis speaking to Barnsley F.C.’s media team
