Below are photos taken by Jordan Collins at the Major League Soccer match between the Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas. These photos were taken for Club Eleven Magazine.
With snow visible on the sidelines, FC Dallas took on the Rapids in a cold early season fixture at Dicks Sporting Goods Park. In the 45th minute, Cole Bassett fizzed a cross into the 6 yard box that was redirected into the Dallas net by defender Sebastien Ibeagha. The defender had very little choice but to try and block the ball. It was unfortunate that the contact pushed it into his own net. The Rapids went into halftime with a 1-0 lead over the visitors.
In the second half, Colorado scored within 5 minutes of play resuming. Kevin Cabral played an accurate cross to Calvin Harris on the far post. Harris, 1 vs. 1 with the goalie and 6 yards out from goal took a shot that was partially blocked by the goalie directly into a defender’s path rushing back towards goal. The ball found Sam Junqua’s planted foot right in the shin and redirected into the net. FC Dallas would score in the 87th minute when Liam Fraser clipped a diagonal ball into Petar Musa who would show great control with his chance and finish to the far post.
